Montana’s Flathead Valley has been a regional vacation destination since the Great Northern Railroad first pioneered a route into Whitefish at the north end of the valley. Executives of the railroad, seeking to establish the area as a world class destination in the late 1800s lobbied for approval of Glacier National Park. Their efforts succeeded in 1910, and since then the Park and the adjoining valley has grown into national and international prominence. (Click above link for entire article).

Lane Avenue Edition:
As a long time Upper Arlington resident, and a recent first time home buyer as well as a Realtor in the area- any community development gossip always perks my ears up. The recent rumors about a Hotel and other Commercial business going in on Lane Avenue hits very close to home, literally, as I live five houses in from Lane Avenue.
What I am about to tell you is what is rumored to be the plan. I am unaware of what is set in stone, and what is still in the development states- but I will tell you all I have heard.....

- First- there is the issue of the Wine Bistro parking lot. Parking was not planned well, and overflow onto Brandon Road and Chester Road is a nightly issue. There are approx. 10 parking tickets issued a night. There is a meeting coming up tonight at UA City Council to discuss doing a 90 day trial of enforcing Permit Parking on that street. It used to be permit only, until 2005 when they took permit signs down. Other solutions are being discussed, such as using the Sunoco station as employee parking and overflow parking, or using Lane Avenue as valet parking. At this point, nothing has been decided.
- Second- on Lane Avenue, between Wellesley and Westmont, a small boutique hotel, Hyatt Brand, is in the works. This hotel would be meant for extended stay guests, and it would be 125-200 rooms. The specific location is unclear at this point.
- Third- Where the Baptist church on Lane Avenue is located there is talk of apartments and a parking structure with a one story underground parking lot.
- Fourth- On the corner lot of Westmont and Lane, where the exercise equipment currently is, a plan for a restaurant and catering hall with a rooftop garden is in the works.

property crush.
Summertime is approaching- looking at summer vacation homes is tempting. I always have wondered what it would be like to "summer" in the Hampton's. Here is a little taste of what Real Estate is like in East Hampton, NY, Sotheby's Style. www.sothebysrealty.com

mi casa.
I have owned my house for just over a year, and my house is still a work in progress. I am always searching catalogs and websites for fun, chic style and decor ideas for my home, and I am hopeful that soon I will be at the point I see in my vision. I already have some get items I plan to build on, and here are a few of my favorite things around my house.
eggs.
It's almost Easter, so Greg and I decided to get in the spirit of Spring and color some eggs. Most of them, well, almost all of them appear to be done by a kindergartner. At least we had fun!
