candy hearts.

I am currently addicted to candy hearts. I am actually feeling sick to my stomach since I ate so many; So now I need to figure out what to do with the rest of them! I found this little bit of advise on the Donovan Designs Website. Great ideas!

1. Create a centerpiece! Fill an empty vase or a few of various sizes with conversations hearts! They’ll look so fresh & bright to lighten up the gray winter days.
2. Cupcake toppers. Decorate some homemade cupcakes with a few hearts to add some crunch to a sweet treat.
3. Create some stationery! Use the hearts to create your own stationery. Place a single heart at the top of a bordered note card, or insert a saying into your handwritten note.
4. Valentine candle. Hot glue some conversation hearts around a white pillar candle and voila- a unique decoration for a table, bathroom or bedside stand.
5. Include them in your wrapping! If you’re giving a small gift such as a candle, chocolates or stationery, place some candy hearts at the bottom of a celephane bag along with your gift & tie with a grosgrain ribbon {a la donovandesigns!}.
Enjoy & have fun!

property crush.

Working in the Real Estate industry can be very tempting. I often find myself searching our website, SothebysRealty.com, for exciting properties in exotic places and exciting new cities. Below are a few properties I have a major crush on!

bedroom.

I am preparing to decorate my upstairs bedroom to make it my master, so I am constantly looking for inspiration. So far I have decided on the color Vintage Gray, and I am going to go with black furniture. Below is a picture I love - but I am looking for more inspiration for accents colors and decor. Any ideas?

5 reasons to use a young realtor.

1. We know how to work the Internet. 85% of buyers start their home search online. My generation grew up with the Internet; therefore know how to use it well and to our advantage.

2. We are tech savvy. We know how to actually use all of the technology offered. We can easily do mail merges, e-blasts, and create brochures and postcards.

3. We are mobile. Younger generations are hooked to their smart phones and although this can be annoying at times, it can also be beneficial in the Real Estate industry. If you use a young Realtor who is mobile savvy, you can guarantee they will not miss a phone call inquiry on your home. You can guarantee if an offer comes in, they will know about it the second it hits their inbox. You know that if an issue comes up, you will be able to reach them at any time.

4. We are social. Many Real Estate transactions occur because word of mouth. Younger generations are going out, getting involved, meeting new people, and networking all while talking about your property.

5. We are careful. When starting out at a young age it is necessary for an agent to earn their keep and gain respect and credibility. Younger generations do everything by the books and are careful not to make a mistake. If you are like me, the newer you are at something, the more meticulous and enthusiastic you are.

This is not to say a seasoned agent is not a great choice. Most of the things younger agents learn is from an experienced agent - this is why my team has meshed several generations together. It is the best of both worlds!

must have.

books.

I just finished reading the 4th book in Nora Robert's Bride Quartet series and I am sad it’s over.  I started out with the first book last summer, Happily Ever After, then read Savor the Moment and Bed or Roses all this year. For anyone looking for a light hearted, girlie book, I strongly suggest anything Nora Roberts. I have quickly moved onto the Lauren Conrad series. I read LA Candy and Sweet Little Lies within a two week period, and now I am about to delve into Sugar and Spice. The Lauren Conrad books are very entertaining, but also very mindless, and I am almost embarrassed that I even read them – so in order to regain my brain cells I am thinking about moving forward with some educational books. In the Real Estate world you can always be learning, especially with the mobile world domination- I will let you know my picks soon.

ready for florida.

One of the great perks of being a Realtor on a team of five agents is that vacation is always possible. There is no need to request time off, or count vacation days, and with 4 other people there is no need to worry about missing a beat...between the five of us, everything will always get done and there is ALWAYS someone available if a client wants to see a home, or needs an open house.

It’s the time of year where I start to get antsy about getting away from the Ohio weather and heading down South with my family. Now- as good as it sounds to get away from work, it is not always that easy...last year I wrote 3 offers and countered two from the lobby of my hotel. I'm not complaining, I'd take working on vacation over a 9-5 job any day of the week! March 1st - Florida, Here I come!

my first post.

As a young Realtor in Columbus, Ohio I have had to struggle with learning the industry and building a client base during this slump in the Real Estate market, all while trying to keep up with my usual ways of travel, shopping, social activities and entertainment. Realistically, you can't have it all- but in the world of blogging
you can want, dream, and share a little bit of reality while you're at it, and that's exactly what I plan to do! I hope you enjoy!
